Tuesday 13th

On disembarking we found the harbour car park and eventually cracking the Irish car parking app paid our dues we manged a few hours of sleep.  Eventually we set off on our Irish tour – first stop was Waterford.  We ambled around some of the old city where Colonel Meagher was born and led the Young Irelanders rebellion arrested for sedition sentenced to death but was deported to Van Deiman’s Land (Tasmania) and also Wolfe Tone first raised the Irish tricolour in Waterford.  We had lunch on a roof terrace overlooking the quay.  From Waterford we made our way inland to Cappawhite in County Tipperary to visit Johnny Ryan, Roger’s brother.   In the evening Johnny took us to the local pub in Doon.  A wonderful evening with Irish music and the best Guinness I have had for a long time.
